There are 500 starving orphans in the village of Utange
Thanks to the generosity of our supporters we’re able to offer some nurture by feeding the little ones each week.
Some walk an hour to reach our compound on a Saturday where they receive a hot meal of maize and beans to fill their hungry tummies.
Afterwards they’re given a bag of unga flour to take home so they have something to cook and eat in the week.

During the rainy season one year, the delivery lorry carrying the flour broke down.
The children sat on the ground for 5 hours waiting for the lorry to turn up as they knew if they didn’t they would have nothing to eat in the week.
The feeding programme really is a lifeline for these orphans. A bag of maize flour costs just £1.10. |
