It is important that all volunteers and visitors to the Orphans Project in Utange understand that they do so entirely at their own risk and must make their own travel and insurance arrangements.
The Utange Orphans Charity (UK Registered Charity no 1160637) is not involved in any way with arranging or managing trips to the Orphans Project.
Volunteers and Visitors must make all arrangements direct with the Kenya based charity, The Sure Foundation Home for Orphans Project.  Information is available from

Several people arranged their own trips to the Opening of Phase One in 2009 and Phase Two in 2010.  Volunteers helped in the home and on the land, met with the children and saw what a difference your generosity is making to their lives.
Since then, many others have travelled out to Utange.  These have included upper school and student groups as well as family groups.  Some have stayed in a local hotel near the beach and others have stayed in the Centre close to Casuarina House and volunteered in the Project.  Some have even stayed in both!

As well as spending time in the village with the children, many visitors arrange to include a safari.

The hotel often used is the 4-star Severin Sea Lodge on the beach, fifteen minutes from Utange.

This is a video made by a volunteer couple who said:
"Our trip involved some incredible experiences including being able to go on Safari, see the Masai tribe, volunteer at the orphanage, spend time with some incredible people and get a taste of the real Africa!"
